Well this is my first blog and I thought I would like to throw light on a topic which has been haunting me for a long time now. "Should I believe in god??"
Writing about god seems to be the most difficult thing to do. After all he is supposedly All Mighty, All Powerful, All Merciful, All Benevolent and 95 other things. How does one describe such a great fellow? However, on closer examination, this task becomes like writing about orcs or elves. Being a figment of our imagination, we can let ourselves run riot and cook up all sort of fantastic things.
Now god would make an amusing topic if only he was not the greatest single cause of troubles on this planet. In fact, I think the 100th name of god, hitherto known only to him, is All Troublesome. Another close contender, for this most secret name, and related to the previous one, is Non Existent.
What can be more childish than to believe that there is some old dude in the sky (in between the clouds!!) worried about your day-to-day affairs?
I sometimes wonder if Satan and god were gay lovers and this trouble we are in happened because they broke up? Some folks even believe that god wants them to use a squatting commode and put their weight on the left foot while using it. These same folks believe that the Western-style toilet bowl is the invention of the devil to induce the faithful to sin. I do not kid about this. Really. Such people exist and make brisk money selling devices to convert your toilet bowl into what gods want it to be.. Such people believe that they believe in God, but without passion in their hearts, without anguish in mind, without uncertainty, without doubt, without an element of despair even in their consolation, believe in the God idea, not God himself. Atrocious! Isnt it??. I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't.
Most people believe in god because they feel comforted. They do not want to take responsibility for their actions. If I fail, god wanted it to be so, and if I do well, god helped me to get there. Of course, absent a god there are many god-men who will take the credit and your money too. Believers set themselves up for a win-win situation. Gimme a break!! I feel I believe in God; I just don't trust anyone who works for him.
The situations and problems I faced in my college life have probably changed my attitude and approach towards everything (especially god) in a significant manner and that’s why may be I m prompted to say this “You can tell the size of your God by looking at the size of your worry list. The longer your list, the smaller your God”. Still, I feel liberated in knowing that we are human and that our destiny is in our hands. If we do not work to make our lives better no one else will. Not god, prophets or his assorted children. I also feel liberated in knowing that this is the only life I have. For if this is the only chance I have, I better make the best of it, to have fun and make a meaningful contribution to my friends and family. I do not want to live for an eternity. Specially not if I have to sing hosannas or follow some horrendous principles and ideals and rituals. And yet paradoxically, You can say maybe the atheist in me cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman………..
You ask: what is the meaning or purpose of life? I can only answer with another question: do you think we are wise enough to read God's mind?
P.S: God doesn't exist and if he exists then he is definitely not great!!

Well... this can be acrimoniously complex... the writer has chosen to alleviate his feelings and has tried to use his experience as a testimony to his parable.... it is very strange however, that u have not noted the act dat many people have diffent thoughts about god... they never share the same feeling..dis cud be a gr8 deceit on the part of preachers or indeed the divine power one speaks of... however ur experience tends to throw light on a commode bowl rather than anything more questionable..this has to be a bit more polished as the aruments posed are definitly worth considering...and any refernce to excreatory activities just tend to weaken ur appeal...at times ur piece assumes a more derogatory meaning..not to god but to a section of the society as well...
i do appreciate diction and active speech as it does keep ur audiences engaged but ur portfolio lacks a lotta research and seems to be like a rant rendered by a youth who fels betrayed by faith..maybe a better perspective without malice is needed..however ur ideas are really gud..and i dare not question dem cos u have a freedom to express urself...
nice read tho
